Brian Gibbs, author of From Overwhelmed to Optimized: A Business Owner’s Guide to Practical AI, will lead a public workshop at Semiahmoo Resort on Friday, May 16. Don Enos, a respected REALTOR® and business leader in Blaine, coordinated the event in response to growing economic pressure on the local business community.
What started as a personal visit quickly evolved into something more.
“When I told Don I’d be in town, he suggested I promote my book,” said Gibbs. “Then he asked if I’d be willing to lead a session that could help local business owners respond to what’s happening. I said yes — and started looking into it.”
Gibbs discovered that just this past February, more than 136,000 fewer vehicles crossed from British Columbia into Washington than last year. That drop in cross-border traffic represents a significant loss in daily revenue for small towns like Blaine — fewer walk-ins, fewer meals, and fewer opportunities to generate momentum.
The Semiahmoo workshop was created as a response to that loss. Built for business owners who want practical, clear ways to streamline their work, the session is designed to help participants take control of their time, tools, and systems.
“This isn’t about chasing trends,” said Gibbs. “It’s about learning how to use what’s already available to you in a way that supports real business challenges, not just adds more noise.
